About the event
Join us for a screening of Aleister Crowley's The Rite of Jupiter, a rock opera! This indie production debuted on stage in Seattle September 2016 and the live performance was released to video summer of 2017. The Rite is an energetic, artistic, and amusing rendition of Aleister Crowley's original work. The setting is a dark carnival theme or old school freak show, and there are burlesque performers and maenads! We go through the show, following the initiation of a maenad into the fold and gaining the wisdom and blessing of Jupiter through ecstatic trance. There is humor! There is blood! There is wine! Learn the secrets of Jupiter and embrace your inner maenad! This is a BYOB/BYOW event. We request a $5 donation at the door unless you are a member of the OTO. All are welcome!
