The rite is dark and serious and bears a theme of war, in addition to adult and occult symbology. We will be discussing some of the symbology in this creative work at points during the showing. There will be an intermission in between acts.
This indie production debuted on stage in Seattle September 2014 and the live performance was released to video summer of 2015. The Rite is an energetic, artistic, and rousing rendition of Aleister Crowley's original work. The setting is a battlefield pre war and during the aftermath. We go through the show, following the leaders and troops as they prepare for battle as well as responsibility with what happens in the wake of battle. There is action! There is fighting! There are strong women and men! Learn the secrets of Mars and embrace your inner warrior!
This is a BYOB/BYOW event. We request a $10 donation at the door unless you are a member of the OTO. All are welcome! Dress as a warrior or Mars or Aries if you desire!
